Well I know all of my facebook friends in real life and I have about 500, so if all those people had Xbox Live I could see this being useful... I'd still only be halfway to the limit though. Maybe they will implement and Sort by Letter option rather than just Ascending, Descending, Online Status, and Game.
Personally, I never had a problem with 100 friends limit. When I reached it I would look through and clear out a bunch of people who hadn't been on LIVE in months or that I had added randomly during CoD nights
