LOOKS like the color changes are limited to the rubberized parts(cord and top of stick) so maybe it's the fire-retardant chemicals that they used in those parts(Same reason hard-plastic white parts tend to yellow even in smoke-free homes).
If I had the disposable cash right now, I throw one under a black-light for awhile, or expose one to unusual levels of heat for an extended amount of time to see if the same thing happens.
