32 songs seems kind of minimal.  i guess rockband/guitar hero is setting the "standard" though on what i expect and they release with what? 80ish songs?  I guess samba de amigo (wii) only had 40 and that didn't feel just too few.

It may seem like a few songs but this is different than those other games in that the songs in Dance Central are coreographed to the music. Its a whole different way of playing a game and is much more interactive than simply using an instrument/ controller. Anyhow, I expect more songs will eventually come out via DLC.

i'm sorry, i'm not sure i understand your point.  it's not like the dancing coreopraphy is completely unique to each song...they have a list of possible moves.

do a "reach lunge".  now do a "jazz square".  now do a a "thunder bolt".

i can't imagine that stringing together a bunch of moves from a set of possible moves is any more work than stringing together a bunch of note combinations in rockband/guitar hero.  the gameplay is different, yeah, but the effort for the developer to release 32 songs or 64 songs is marginal i'm sure.

No, they are actually choregraphed routines from professional choreographers and in many cases are the same moves used by the artists in the music videos for those songs.  Once you get into the expert mode they are quite complex routines.  Plus they do that for each difficulty.

They do have a list of moves but it's over 600 I believe.

There is also an extensive training mode for each song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NU7TucL_QX4&feature=player_embedded
