I think thats subjective.

People who like physical keyboards may find Iphone not the best phone for them. Also people who don't want to worry about how they hold the phone when making phone calls may want to wait till apple revises Iphone 4.

Finally people like me who will not touch Itunes with a 10 foot pole may want to avoid it as well.

I'm not exactly sure on the problems the iPhone 4 is currently having. I have a 3GS and it's never given me any real problems. I understand that you don't like iTunes and may enjoy a physical keyboard, these are all preference points (like you said, it's subjective). But in the case of hardware and multimedia capabilities standpoint, the phone is lightyears ahead of the competition.
