Without being dead they would of just been another singer and not worth the time of day. Nirvana and The Doors are ordinary but their mysterious deaths make them famous. |
I'm not a fan of rap. I don't care for Hendrix or the Doors and I like a few songs by Nirvana. But that doesn't change how influential every one of the names that you mentioned were in their time, when they were ALIVE.

Those are just a few and they would not have been as famouse as they were/are if they "would have been just another singer."
In music (and film), it's hard to be rememered and loved by so many when your influence is snatched from the world before its time, when all you were before you died was mediocre at best.
