Move=500,000? + Japan prediction.

no its not, half a million in like 2-3 weeks is great for an controller. how many PS3 controllers are sold a week(not including the ones that come with the system)

Yes but Sony talked about Move as more then just a peripheral they said it was like a new platform. As a new platform 500k is pretty dissapointing, if Sony wants people to buy PSMove over Wii's they have to sell more then 500k launch month. They need at least a mill by the end of the first month and more after that.

I'd say if this thing hasn't sold 10-million units by spring 2012 then this is a failed product at least in terms of it being a new platform. Now if you want to lower your expectations to that of just another peripheral then 500k is pretty good. But I don't think Sony intended on it being just another peripheral, they wanted it to be in Pachter's words a WiiHD and that people would move over from the Wii to PS3.

no 500k for a new platform that next to no-one knows about is good, i'm getting fed up of this kind of rubbish, and nice way to set an impossible target for move that you know it most likely wont hit, just so you can call it a failure

What else are you supposed to call a platform that fails to outsell DreamCast.

New platform that no one knows about? No offence but where I live I saw about five Move commercials in an hour. They are all over the television. Then I went into Best Buy and FutureShop and the Move is advertised all over the stores. EBGames won't stop talking about how as a Wii owner I should buy Move. Michael Pachter said Move is WiiHD and told his investors it will replace Nintendo's Wii.

Infact I'd say Move is advertised way more the Wii ever has been, Kevin Butler won't stop slinging mud and his ads are everywhere. I even saw an aid near a train station. Now how is that a platform nobody knows about?

thanks for the comparison move is nothing like the dreamcast, and to be honest you may have seen 5 move ad's but over here i have only seen 1 in three weeks, so obviously move is not being marketed the same everywhere, strange huh, not to mention there will be a huge preconception about move being a wiimote, until people play on it, i already converted 2 people i know to move, next step my kids friends.

fact is it will take time for move to sell, even sony expected  a slow burner, and expect it to rocket by a year's time, you cannot call it a failure unless they discontinue it..
