I think they need this division and in it's current 'guise' for the very reason of why they lowered their rating to 'neutral'. Microsoft has pressure to compete in new and emerging consumer markets with huge R&D investments. To take out the profitable products to show only the future investments wouldn't look very good on earnings reports.
