personally I rank like this SNES FFs> GB FFs (which are really saga, but whatever) > PS1 FF > PS2 FF.
i've yet to play the NES ones and FXIII, have them though, but as you can see... I believe the series has been in decline for a while...
started playing DQ (got all game but didn't have the time), that should fill the gap for a while.
