So if you play as Deimos in God of War III I'm guessing the cut scenes will still be Kratos right?
It would be sick if the cut scenes used Deimos and his own voice.
Except in 1 or 2 custscenes which were pre-recorded using the GoW III engine (much like most UC2 and Alan Wake cutscenes), in every other cutscene, it will be Deimos because they're 100% in engine....people say UC2's graphics are better...but I wonder how many of them know this ?
you are confusing CGI cutscnes with in engine cutscenes, Uncharted 2 and Alan Wake doesn't have CGI nor GoWIII if i remember correctly, so all cutscenes will have his "Skin" on but not his voice.
No. not CGI. Cutscenes which have been recorded using the in game engine with effects added on. Why does Drake always turn to normal even though he is wearing special skins, and why can the cutscenes be skipped easily ? They're videos....
In GoW III, the skin you're using will appear in most cutscenes...cause they're 100% in game, unlike AW and UC2.
GoW III has 2 or 3 pre-recorded ones...the rest are 100% in game. In the section where hercules enters through that tunnel, there are 2 orb chests - magic and health.
If you've opened both chests, they'll be open in the cutscene. If you open one, only the one you opened will be open in the cutscene. If you open none, none will be open in the cutscene.
pre-recorded using in game engine =/= CG
In engine is the same as ingame just with animations not done in the game.
edit : btw even if you choose a female skin for example this would happen, though drake's voice is still there (the only time it changes is when you choose fat drake)
Obviously there are a few in game sequences. But if you see where I'm coming from, you can't skip any of those...in most cutscenes, drake changes back to normal and those can be skipped.
There is a big difference, you see - the recorded videos obviously are just that...a video playing...in game cutscenes on the other hand use more of the consoles resources to pull them off...because they're rendered as you go. So, its hard to pull off incredibly epic scenes without recording them, hence ND did what they did...and it looks amazing too.
SCE Santa Monica on the other hand pulled off nosediving sea gods ramming into titans and drowning them in game... A bigger technical achievement, imo.
