You need a quadcore CPU and GTX470 or GTX460 SLI ... anything less and say good bye to 1080p resolution or say hello to medium or lower game settings or say good bye to 30 frames per second. These cards make a lot of heat...so you will need a case which has lots of room, airflow. Your old dad's case won't do... Then, these cards need a lot of power...so you will need to upgrade your 450 watt PSU to a 700 watt monster. Gear: 3D Vision kit (200 bucks) 3D monitor ( $300) And thats even before you get in to adding more ram, mobo that supports SLI...etc. It gets pricey for a regular consumer no matter which way you cut it.

Ok, I thought it would be cheaper than that presently. Still, would be interesting to see where things stand price wise a year from now. From experience, there's a good chance that a year from now a mid-budget graphics card will achieve the same performace. Just so I understand - do you need 2 GTX470 or one? (is this one also SLI or is only the 460?)
