Should be interesting to see how it goes. I think what I want to see most is how GT5 does as a racing game on this generation of consoles. There haven't been that many that have really lit up the genre, so it's been an interesting consideration to me whether that's a lack of interest in what's been served up so far, or a general 'meh' feeling toward racing games in general as of late. The industry has the same ebbs and flows that just about everything else does, so I'm curious to see how it all works out.

Well there haven't been many racing sims this gen in general. The racing genre, in general, have seen some of the most innovative to date this gen though -

- Split/Second

- Pure

- Burnout: Paradise

- ModNation Racers

Just to name a few. Remember that games like Gran Turismo and Forza are vastly different than something like Burnout or Split/Second. The racing genre has different genres within itself, from arcadey to simulator. I expect a top tier, high quality simulator experience from Gran Turimo 5, nonetheless.

Indeed, there have been some rather good ones. I loved Split/Second, myself, and ModNation Racers was another favorite. I suppose what I'm curious about is whether the simulators have retained the punch that they had in previous incarnations/generations. No question GT5 will sell well, I'm just curious as to where the numbers will end up in relation to those other racers, arcade and not, during this particular generation and last.

Statistics. I loves them.
