I think they're going to be or at least should be wary of releasing an expensive handheld after the utter failure of the PSPGo (and price wasn't the only factor there and they know that). I'm guessing they are in the process of finalizing the specs and will finalize them when they see how the 3DS does at its stupid high price.
If the 3DS does well, we'll see a beefy PSP2 at a high price, if it doesn't do well, we'll see an upgraded PSP at a ~$200-ish price.
