OT: Well, I would not recommend an 8g if you are planning to use it also with applications, it really depends on how much music do you have. A cousin of mine is having problems of memory, so....
The device itself is amazing, if you want one, you should get the 32g. I've only tried FF I, and Civilization Revolution. As I have not hacked it I can't really tell you about the apps that you can get.
