Honestly I can't tell the difference under normal use unless I jam my ears up against each speaker individually. DPL Is basically Stereo sound split up into 5.1. And 5.1 surround sound is just that clear and simple. There is a small bit of quality loss in DPL but unless you've got a 5,000$ sound system you really won't notice the difference.
