Why Not? Blu-Ray is the future :D
Even though it is one the cheapest Blu-Ray players (I think there's cheaper, correct me if I'm wrong) People would still pay a premium to get that Blu-Ray player AND a gaming console. If your looking to buy a Blu-Ray player that retails for $349, why not throw in an extra $50 for a gaming console. I would do it.
And plus, the PS3, as a Blu-Ray player, is future-proof. Due to it's constant firmware updates and future enhancements and what-not.
