Softie maybe, but I think that's just plain cool. It's just an extremely powerful ending, from Ganondorf ("Heh... the wind... it is blowing.") to the King of Hyrule (Yes, Link reaching out to him gets me every time). Yeah, Wind Waker has a silly design choice or two (I actively repress the Triforce Hunt in my mind), but the way the game is presented, and how it all comes together... fantastic stuff. |
I swear, no end-game Zelda boss (save Ocarina of Time, I guess) approaches the sheer gravitas of the final showdown in Wind Waker. Everything about it--the ocean collapsing over your head, the King's role, Ganandorf's build-up talking about his "coveted wind"--is just pure spine-chill-inducing goodness.
Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.
