After the attack on Mumbai any credible threat of a similar attack anywhere in the world was likely going to result in warnings, and the Americans/British are warning travelers to these countries because the attack in Mumbai was focused on western (primarily American and British) tourists. The reason for the warning has little/nothing to do with it being a highly likely for someone to get injured/killed in this terrorist strike if it happens; the reason for the warning is to protect the intelligence agencies in case the attack happens and people find out they had intelligence suggesting it was going to happen.
