I'm definitely against releasing game and DLC at the same time which have been a trend lately. If DLC is ready at the same time as the game, it should always come with game or as free download. Also, if DLC is already on disc, customer shouldn't pay extra just to unlock it (this has happened too). It is on disc so customer already paid for it. And if developer have promised game with some features but, in reality, they are released later on, those features should not pay extra. What they promise, they should deliver to everyone, even early adopters.
If developing DLC have started after game is released then I'm not against DLC.
Btw. Some people say that release dates would have to be pushed back if game would have to be released with DLC. Well, if game is not ready at release date, it should be pushed back, no matter how long it takes. Games should never be released as incomplete.
