The main problem I have with remakes is it's just a way to cut costs of developing a brand new game and make some easy cash. It's lazy. The other thing is, the games are JUST FINE as they are, they don't need graphical updates to make them relevent today, if someone doesn't play a game because the graphics aren't up to par then it's their own loss for being ignorant.
And just as important many of the original staff who created older Final Fantasys are no long with Square, which would greatly influence how a remake came out in the end.
