Why just do not launch few SKUs in price range of $200-300, differentiated by internal memory size, 3G-connectivity or whatever features? They can lose a couple of bucks on low-end models, but receive a big margin on high-end models. That isn't smth they never did before (DSi, DSi XL models), or what Apple is constantly doing selling iPods for $230, $300 and $400. Obviously manufacturing costs do not rise that fast from low-end to high-end model, but in eyes of consumer prices are justufied.
