My opinion on this matter has been extensively documented on this site and to my now deceased cat. Considering my cat is dead and shifting through post history is relatable to having ones intestines liquefied, I figure I should just go ahead and repeat what I have previously stated...
Any developer who uses the ps3 instead of the 360 as lead platform is quite simply, lazy.
If you remember correctly, the ps3 was meant to be a machine of challenge. It was to present an insurmountable amount of grief to any developer foolish enough to attempt coding for it. This is not some idea I pulled out of my rear, but something that Sony themselves related to the dev and gaming community upon the launch of their present generation console.
Although the ps3 has since been conquered 'slightly' Sony's original intent remains. To challenge developers and fight the laziness that has plagued game development for so long. I consider this one of the more noble goals set by a gaming business or any business for that matter.
Now, your original intent upon creating this thread was to hear peoples opinions on ps3 as the lead platform... and IMO, this is a terrible thing. It's undermining the noble goal Sony set for the industry. It's spitting in the face of ingenuity, challenge, and all that other garbage! Like all lazy things, companies like EA have switched to this vile development methodology. They should have to understand two seperate machines! They should then proceed to try and convert easier to develope for 360 code over to ps3 code for the ultimante test!!! Instead of challenging themselves and spending perhaps 90% of the budget fiddling with Sony's elaborate puzzle of an architecture, they have chosen to CUT CORNERS! :O
Like I said, lazy.
