Is U2's multiplayer still even active?

It's pretty much guaranteed that Black Ops will steal some of it's userbase.I really wanted to get into U2's online part but the overuse of AK's made it feel so repetitive. A friend of mine even told me the FAL was nerfed making the AK even more common.
