You kind of scare me. Separation of church and state is big in my book. Forcing religous organizations to pay taxes won't only not solve the debt, but also cause lots of resentment and uprisings. People want freedom to worship without any government intervention, and taking that away is not only a direct violation of the constitution, but would cause too many uprisings and revolts, possibly leading to a revolution.

A good idea? Maybe. Reasonable? Not really

I am a logical Atheist venting my hate on religious organisations getting away with paying no tax in most countries through out the western world. Criminal and terrorist organisations use religious organisations  to launder money.

Religious organisations should be forced to pay tax. The Queen and monarchs should be mandatory forced to pay tax to the government. The Budget would be balanced instantly: deficit gone, into surplus. Government current short term public debt can be paid off quickly. Foreign debt may never be paid back or even reduced due to interest and volatility of the financial derivatives markets. Personal debt is citizens individual responsibility to pay back to the financial institutions.

By taxing religious groups = more government tax revenue. Lower taxes for citizens and lower taxes for companies. Why make the lower and middle income classes pay for the upper classes and governments mistakes of the economic crisis?

It would take a brave government to enforce this dramatic tax change. Yes, there would  be outrage, revolts and protests. European nations could do it because they do not need 70% voting in support in the US Congress to pass bills. European nations only need 50% 1 vote to pass laws changes and bills through their parliament.

Take the tax burden off of Jane and John average citizen and tax the Pope and Queen. Taxing the religious groups could be sold as a Green Tax or Green Levy. Feel good marketable name that will help take the heat off the religion tax. It would bring home lots of tax money for the government if  it was enforced.

Religious groups/cults/sects/organisations should be forced to pay tax.

Yes. Do you know what the world needs? More people who think it's okay to tax other people because they don't like them and give the money to people and things they do like.

Because that's not a more socially acceptable form of segregation of intolerance or anything. All YOU have to do is hope that no one in power ever dislikes you and you're safe, right? No one would ever do something like that to you!

I could quote about a million parables about slippery slopes, casting first stones, and other such things but I don't think you'd even get it.

I am  trying to make a point that religious groups should be forced to pay taxes. Criminal networks, terrorists groups and  wealthy religious groups have been dodging tax. Religious groups are safe tax havens for criminal organisations and  wealthy people to use as a conduit to evade tax and launder money. Why should the average citizen have to pay higher taxes?

So you are implying that religious groups should avoid paying tax and the average Joe citizen should have to foot the tax bill? Tax payers funds gets put into wealthy religious private schools by the Federal government. The religious also do not have to pay taxes. Tax payers have been ripped off by the governments to fund and support religious groups.

Governments should make the religious groups pay tax at the company tax rate and audit the religious groups. IMO  Scientology, Jehovahs, Witness, Catholic Church, etc should be forced to pay tax. Religious groups paying tax would help the government reduce its deficit and lower taxes for all citizens.

Religious entities acquire most of their "wealth" through monies donated by their constituency, which has already been taxed. Since religious institutions not only operate as a non-profit organization but are also given separation from state policy in most western countries, you have no valid reason to want to tax them so badly outside of "you don't like them". On top of that, what you're suggesting tears huge holes in various countries' constitutions and legal groundwork, as religions have carefully been excluded from many laws to avoid persecution (from the likes of you, really, just in a different form than the persecution of the 16th and 17th centuries).

Look at the things you've typed. It's readily apparent that you have an incredible hatred for religion. I don't see you suggesting that other non-profits pay taxes, even though many "non-profits" are only that way in namesake and they pay their faculty large sums of money and distribute the bare minimum to those in need to avoid losing their status as a tax exempt entity.

Yet, I don't see you saying a single thing about that. You just don't like religion and want to get back at them for obviously being so fucking retarded as to believe in a higher entity.
