Kinect could be really interesting, but nothing announced so far interests me, but it really is early days yet. A problem would be if they release shovelware and it sells well because there's not other choice, there's a possibility that shovelware and kiddie games would saturate the market, drowning out good quality games - which i think could be really impressive with the technology. |
That's actually what I'm most interested in seeing. I'm not stating that I don't want kinect to succeed, but the more perverse side of me wants to see what new kinds of shovelware can be created with kinect. We've seen evolutions in storytelling, gameplay, online functionality, and individual genres, so I think shovelware is way overdue for an evolution of its own. Shovelware 2.0 if you will; new and innovative ways destroy a gamer's soul. This new strain of shovelware should prove more resistant to common sense than the old one, but we'll have to wait and see.
