The SE fanbase is on DS/PSP, not Wii/PS3/360.  If KH3 releases this gen, it should probably be on a handheld.  Hell, it should probably just be on 3DS.

As far as RPGs on Wii, it's been pretty hit or miss, but Action RPGs have done generally well on Wii (Zelda TP, Super Paper Mario, MH3, Okami, Muramasa, DQ Swords, etc).  A Wii KH3 would likely sell in-line with the PS2 games worldwide imo, it has the best (read: most diverse) console userbase for the game really.

S-E's top selling game of the generation is on PS360. 

And it also sold less than the series debut last gen (as have Star Ocean, Front Mission, etc).  The fanbase didn't transition to PS360 exactly, and the only platform where any SE games have actually outsold what their series managed last gen is DS.  All hail DS. :D

Did the SE fan base not transition to PS2? Because the FF debut on PS2 was lower than the PS1 FF debut......yeah, no Jarrod, your argument makes no sense.

 

Facts are facts which show S-E's top selling game of the gen is on PS360.

With KH the West is key, in the west The SE fan base IS unarguably on PS360.

FFVII was first party outside Japan.  And as we all know, 1st party "doesn't count". ;P

Besides, KH sells more than FF in the west, and that's because it reaches beyond the western SE fanbase.  When looking at KH3, you shouldn't be asking yourself "where is the SE fanbase", you should be asking "where is the Disney fanbase".  And, where are they?

If not for Versus, I'd say KH3 should definitely be a Wii game based on the market alone.  And it should probably be proceeded by KH1-2 ports (which would've also sold a boatload).  Versus though has tied the team's hands and eaten all their time, and that game might not even release in 2011 last we heard... it seems pretty obvious to me KH3 just isn't going to make it this gen, there's not enough time left post-Versus to get it done before the next gen launches (2011/2012), and really who knows what the market will be like by the time it's ready in 2013/2014 (PS4 resurgence?  Wii 2 domination?  XB3 takeover?).  If Versus were finished already, I could see it hurried on PS3/360 using the same engine, but even that would still probably mean a release after (at least) Wii 2 launch.
