According to Nielsen, 70% of Wii owners also had a PS2. I think there are plenty of "core gamers" who have held on to their Wiis, but they only buy Nintendo's games for the most part anymore.
Piracy's becoming more and more of an issue too (as it did on DS/PSP for core games), Wii's by far the easiest console to pirate (you don't even need a Wii at this point to do it, just a Wiimote for control) and core games tend to (proportionately) get the worst ratios for pirating. It's funny that the most vocal gaming segment are also likely the worst offenders when it comes to piracy...
