As a Westerner, I have serious reservations with countries such as Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan (when ruled by the Taliban) where the state advocates an extremist Wahhabi form of Islam. I agree it is inhumane and degrading, but we are all individually bound by the rules and social mores of the cultures of the society we reside in. |
