Telling me that GT is about racing when I said it was about racing shows a lack of reading comprehension. I clearly feel that GT is about racing so that isn't the area where we disagree. Let me give you a list of all the cars made by Honda known to be in GT5: Integra Type-R (DC5-gen, ’04) Notice that all of these are cars whose main focus is performance. The Integra Type-R is the only FWD car in the list, and it's probably one of the most track-focused FWD cars aside from the Mini Cooper GP. Among these cars, the CR-Z stands out like a sore thumb. These cars are not all race cars. Hell, three of them are stock street cars. I do not believe that there should only be race cars in a game like GT5. I thoroughly enjoy flogging production cars. However, attempting to flog a car that was designed for the opposite of performance does not appeal to me or the great majority of people who enjoy this game. I'm not going to deny that there might be a few odd people who want to race with this car, but they're not even a small minority, they're microscopic. The ONLY reason this car is included is for marketing purposes for Honda. GT gains nothing from this. No one not previously interested in GT5 will suddenly want to check it out because it has a hybrid econobox. That is my point. I don't care that it's not a race car. I haven't mentioned a single race car in this thread aside from the ones copypasta'd in that list. I think it's stupid because virtually no car enthusiast would want to drive this car in a race setting. It shouldn't be in the game for the same reason the Prius isn't. |
Alright if your going to completely ignore or not understand my post, dont bother quoting or replying to it...
@ first line. i dont even get why you bring this up. The debate is clearly that you believe Gt should only have cars with "performance" in mind. While i believe that ANY car should be in it. Weaker cars can be upgraded or just raced as is. Which is one of the many things that makes GT (imo) the best racing game out there.
Remember A-spec points? The points you get rewarded for for not choosing the fastest or the best car but choosing the weaker car tuning it correctly and making the race a challenge, thats GT. So when you say flogging that tells me right there your not getting many of those or getting one of the many great things GT has to offer. So maybe you should go back and have another go at Gt4.
If you truely believe that Gt shouldnt just have racing type cars (also id like to clarify racing type cars. this to me mean means any car that is obviously geared toward racing as opposed to fuel economy, towing capacity, number of passengers able to be carried, basicly average cars) then we wouldnt be having this discusion because the CRZ is really no different from a performance stand point to cars in past editions.
Al la. 1963 Daihatsu Midget, 2004 DMC Delorean S2 (best car ever), 1983 Civic 1500 3Door 25i, 1949 Beetle 1100 Standard (Type II), 2001 Lupo 1.4, 2003 Accord Coupe EX, 1999 Insight. All of these were taken from a list of cars in GT4.
