university education should be funded via general taxation, same with all other levels of education.

Why?  University education is corporate welfare, used by corporation to sort and train their workers, so they don't need to pay for it (they offload one of their costs).  Why should tax dollars be used to pay for corporate welfare?  Not saying it shouldn't be done, but would want to have it explained why it should be done.

Reminds me of how things work at GM.  Or used to work.

My dad was a regular worker... passed a skilled trademen test, and then THEY Sent him to school to learn the skilled trade.

Me i'm blame parenting though.  Everyone teaches their kid they're special, the king of the world, gods own special son and all that and they can do whatever they want and accomplish whatever they want and be the first astronout president starting foward for the LA Lakers even though they're 5'5,  get straight C's and can't tell venus from uranus.

Truth is, it's HARD to do shit.  You can't just get a degree and be handed a job, but most people think that's all there is to it, so most people get degrees often in way overcroweded fields.

There is no regulation or even publication of job growth vs projected degrees.

In general, people need to be taught that a degree doesn't equal a job, and you can't do anything.  Or rather, you can but it's REALLY hard.
