Aside from Nintendo stuff, Final Fantasy, and Pokemon, I can't think of any franchises that have been equally successful in the east and west. There're plenty of examples on both sides though, Halo's not very successful in Japan, and Dragon Quest isn't very successful in the Americas and Europe, but both are megahits in their other territories.
