Seems to me like the outcome with the highest chance of commercial success is 4). Which means this guy is gonna look like a bit of a dick in a few years time to those who remember these comments. Of course 99.995% of people don't even know he's made these comments and 99% of the remaining 0.005% of people will have forgotten he said them by the time nextbox comes out. So really it's a pretty safe bit of trash talking he's doing there.

 

Why will he look like a dick? He said X360 don't need Blu Ray, he didn't say Nextbox don't need Blu Ray. The needs for one console differ of the needs for the next one.

You can't tell me that's only talking about Xbox 360.

"Passed by as a format" means Xbox360 DVD --> Nextbox with something other than Blu-ray. If Nextbox comes with Blu-ray then the format is not being passed by, meaning his "is going to be passed by as a format" comment is going to make him look like a bit of a dick.

In fact if Nextbox comes with any form of physical media device playback this comment is going to be a bit dickish. Because clearly it will mean people haven't moved through to DD, at least not in sufficient numbers.
