Yeah but that would require me to pay for Live in order to use them, which would cost a minimum of £5 (One month minimum) so that'd be £49 whereas I could just buy the game for £35 from my local Tesco and be happy, lol.

Why would you need to buy live?? You can still use points on a free silver account.

Lol yeah I realised that after posting, lol... okay, well since my 360 is in another room, I'd have to buy a wireless adapter to spend the points, which is an extra £40-50, so yeah... lol.

Or you could buy a longer ethernet cable for pennies, or hook it up, connect to live once, download the game and disconnect again.
