The problem in Mexico is very sad. Growing up in San Diego I used to enjoy going across the border to places like Ensenada and Tecate. But now I wouldnt dare. Even if I am Mexican American, speak Spanish, and dont stand out, it doesnt matter. Anyone can become a victim. In the cities along the northern border the situation is out of control. Cartels are killing each other and innocents are caught up in the crossfire.

I don't believe NATO is the solution. The only way to stop the trafficking and violence is to legalize drugs in the US. Then tax the shit out of it. At least that way Americas will benefit in some way from their vice. Meanwhile, the Cartels will lose control because Americans could just produce their drugs domestically or through somewhat legitimate businesses with legitimate suppliers.
