Samsung sent an independent contractor to come and fix my T.V. today. He was here for about an hour and replaced the broken DMV chip. 1 by 3/4 inch size. He also cleaned the inside of the t.v. so now the picture looks sharper and brighter.
He told me that Samsung t.v. are excellent but the dmv chip has a problem and he's been replacing them. It's not made by Samsung. Apparently Samsung started using Texas Instrument dmv chips about three years ago. Don't know if they still use TI chips, but I guess the problem is fixed on the newer dlp t.v.s
he also told me not to put anything on the top of the t.v.
