Japan’s Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association just announced the winners of the Japan Game Awards 2010, which covers titles released between April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010.

 

New Super Mario Bros. Wii took top honors. CESA chose it as the Game of the Year since beginners and advanced gamers can enjoy it. According to CESA, New Super Mario Bros. Wii bridges generation gaps. Heavy Rain won the Game Designer’s Award for creating a suspenseful scenario with convincing graphics and sound to match it.

 

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies also claimed a trophy. Actually, two of them. It was the top selling game in Japan and won an excellence award.
