You could say that about any army. Just look at how Vietnam went or the recent war in Iraq. Anyone with a brain knows that people joining the army are going to be affected by the fact that they are killing people.

The Japanese are no different that any other people. Problem is winners get to fire out the long-lasting propaganda about their victory and about their enemies behaviour.
