"sony got lucky" rubbish, it takes more than luck to have 2 consoles sell over 100 million units, something Nintendo has yet to achieve.

Ya'll like to believe Nintendo was never out of the game.

Booming economy and being the first consolek to sell worldwide (the NES/SNES were never big in Europe and neither was Sega in Japan) which is a result of having more assets and being able to pool more of them. Not to mention Nintendo didn't release a 2D Mario, 3rd parties hated both Sega and Nintendo and Sony launched first. Only the very last one was controllable, but it can not be duplicated to how it helped them before.

It's very easy to say Sony got lucky. It's also a good reason that Sony, once dominate before, can hardly keep up.
