Actually this is something that I had read in numerous articles after the PSP's release.  I'm sure they stated that potentially, especially because the PSP's screen resolution is lower than the PS2 standard resolution that the PSP could shift more information onscreen.

Anyway, I'd really not said much about it, as it seemed the PS2 was graphically better than the PSP, but I suppose, if you think that the PSP is only really 2 years into it's lifecycle and the PS2 is 7 years now and developers have had 7 years + to get as much as possible out of the system.

One this is for sure, expect to see bigger and better looking games on the PSP in the years that follow.
