On topic: Don't ask don't tell is probably best for homosexuals in the army. Its not gonna go over too well when you announce you're gay to a bunch of marines. I don't think its the best place/time to come out of the closet.

It's not like they're going to force people to tell their sexual orientation to others.

The problem is, if you violate don't ask don't tell.... your kicked out of the army.

That is... if you violate it and your gay.

If your straight and talk about hooking up with a woman... no penalty.

Yeah there's plenty of double standards in the world that suck eh. Its cool to say you're into women, but if you're into guys you get kicked out of the army.

There are also plenty of double standards for racism, religion, etc.
