Is this why JRPG's are a dying breed?

personally I think JRPG's peaked at Chrono Trigger and have only gone downhill since.  I do however still play them, because they are fun.  However, nothing has surpassed Chrono Trigger as far as JRPG's go.  

WRPG's on the other hand are awesome!
