The logos for the Sat were, highway star.
The reason they named it the "360" rather than anything else, used a cube, ect, was the fact they wanted to differentiate the Xbox 2 from the Playstation 3. Getting into a comparison with the general consumer would make them assume that PS3>Xbox 2, since the PS was one model higher.
Thus they created the 360, and logo, and such.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
