I had a look at that game when I was browsing around for a WiiMotion Plus tennis game on the Wii. Basically the reviews say that as you upgraded from Motion to Motion to Camera tracking the controls just got worse. For the reviews I read of it, it seems to fit the definition of shovelware. I doubt a PS3 version will be any better. |
I recently read a preview for Racquet Sports and apparently it takes the same approach to movement as Wii Sports tennis. In other words, none at all. Players don't actually move their character at all; it auto tracks.
So the controls boil down to how well Move picks up subtleties like topspin, slice , etc. but it does seem pretty shallow for an independent, disc based game. Wii Sports tennis didn't recognize any of that. You could basically play by shaking the remote back and forth rapidly. Not the preferred method, but it still worked.
I'll have a legit opinion later today when I get my controller since I already downloaded the Racquet Sports demo.
