Honestly, I've never been much of a handheld gamer, but everythign I've seen of the 3DS and all the potential to be had in a PSP2 have me very excited abotu the next generation of portable systems.
Add in a touchscreen, full PSN functionality, full BC for PSP downloadable games, and support for PS2 classics and I'll be all over PSP2. Add in smartphone capabilities on top of all that and it'll be the ultimate package.
