I don't think Cleopatra can be considered a genre movie. It's a hystorical epic about Cleopatra. It's terribly stupid to compare it to 300 which is a Action movie set in a hystorical setting.

Oh lol =)

What? I never said Cleopatra is a good movie. But it's definately not a "genre movie" (though I personally don't associate quality with genre).

You don't get it, right? =) Maybe the fact that you completely missed my point has smth to do with my English. Either way I was bored and do not intend to continue this pointless discussion.

If you were referring to the fact that I misspelled "historical", well my bad.

If you were reffering to the fact that I said Cleopatra isn't a genre movie, and then went on to say it's a historical epic, well all movies are part of a genre.   However, to my knowledge, the term "genre movie" is generally use as a pejorative term to reffer to films that are part of genres considered to be "lesser" (Westerns, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror etc.). I've never heard anyone call a hystorical epic a genre movie, precisely because historical epics not considered a "lesser" genre. They're generally conisdered very important movies, because they deal with great historical figures or events.
