Well I finally bought it and played it so I have some more info for others who may have been curious...
The time limits and weird save system form the first game are still here. The controls feel much more smooth than they did back in the first one, and the shooting has been vastly improved.
If you do everything right you can beat the game in about 2 hours, but there are at least 6 different endings since my first time through I got ending F, then on my second try I got ending A.
Combining weapons is loads of fun and a welcome addition to the game. Electrified rakes and shotgun pitchforks pretty much speak for themselves...
All of this, coupled with the $5 price point means I rate this a solid must buy.
