I honestly never thought much of the series until I bought a 360 last year. I was having too much trouble with WINE gaming so I bought a 360 to play Fallout3 and L4D. I picked up Halo3 cheap and really enjoyed it, and have subsequently played the rest of the series.
The campaign is fun and multi is balanced.
