Same here. The games are basically the same but it just struck me that the limited control of dual analog was less inhibiting for Bioshock than CoD4. I'm guessing they bumped CoD4 up on the 360 for Xbox Live reasons but didn't want to leave Bioschock without any love so thye boosted it on the PC. I've only played both games on a PC so I'm not sure if Xbox Live was a really great addition or not.
@smash bros.
While I completely agree there's no point arguing about it because most won't understand. Bioshock always struck me as similar to Risk or Stratego, average people who couldn't handle a real wargame with a 200 page instruction manual absolutely love Risk and Stratego because they're a different kind of board game, are something they can comprehend, and makes them feel like Napoleon for a night. People who play real wargames, like me, don't care for Risk and have to be seriously drunk to consider playing it. The fact that I know of many FPS players who love Bioshock because of its RPG/Puzzle elements but can't handle Metroid is some small confirmation of my theory.

I completely agree. You would think that the fact that MP3 not only proves FPS controls but is the best FPSish game on the Wii would warrant at least a little bit more interest. I've seen several overal top 10 list with CoD4, Bioshock, Halo 3, and the Orange Box on them but not even room at #10 for MP3. It's kind of sad listening to the IGN podcats where Matt mentions he's the only editor who thinks MP3 should even be considered. You don't have to love or get a game to recognize it at least deserves consideration or a top 10 place. I don't love Bioshock but I'd definitely have a spot for it in on an objective top ten list (Halo 3 is the only one I've played that I would question including).
EDIT: Oh right, this thread was about Gamespot giving SMG its GOTY award. Well I'll have to see it made official before I believe it but if it is true then good for Gamespot, they did something right for a change. However, in my book you don't gain points for doing things right so they just didn't dig themselves any deeper is all. I'm certainly not forgiving their MP3 or Zelda TP reviews because of this.
