Never got why Christians ignore the Old Testamant. I thought it's still considered a part of the Bible. Does the New Testament instruct Christians to ignore the Old Testament? So no Genesis story etc? |
Not sure why one of the Atheists on this site is explaining this, but here I go...
A woman was to be stored to death in following this passage in the Bible, and Jesus stepped in and said "He who is without sin, cast the first stone", and then he did not throw a stone.
So while the old testament has things in it that are to be followed (Like the 10 commandments), Jesus came along and updated how people should conduct themselves.
I mean if he changed nothing, there would be no difference between being a Christian or a Jew.
Some people in this thread conveniently ignore that, because it helps there argument.
