Wii barely edged out 1st place, not bad considering its competitors BOTH released console redesigns. Now all Wii really has to do is weather the Move and Kinect storms (the former of which I don't anticipate making much of an impact) and it's smooth sailing for Nintendo. The holiday season, Kirby, and especially DKC, are going to reignite Wii sales to near 2008 levels.

Regardless, I still think it may be a good idea for Nintendo to ready their next console for holiday 2012 or spring 2013 the latest. Either that or they really need to get going with more motion plus games, as well as the Vitality Sensor. More game like Galaxy 2 and Metroid Other M simply aren't going to cut it.

360 starting to come back to earth, but will get newfound boosts when Halo Reach and Kinect are released. Though I don't think either of these will give much of a sustained hardware boost. How 360 fares next year relies almost entirely on how Kinect performs, so MS needs to pray this thing is a massive hit if they want to maintain relevence in the hardware business. They don't have much in the distant future besides Gears 3.

PS3 won't get the large temporary boosts that MS gets, but I think in the long run the PS3 will outlast the 360. Move will not make much of an impact, though Sony seems to have a stronger lineup than MS from here on out, so that alone will help keep PS3 over the 360. When everything settles next year, it should be Wii>PS3>360, though the numbers will remain very close for the majority of the time, barring price drops or huge releases.
