Yeah I tried taking the hard drive out and replacing it with my friends hard drive, but no luck.  Also, I read that if you hold down the eject button and then switch on the power it will spit your disk out, but thats no working.  So it looks like im going to have to open my ps3 anyway to get my game out, so I'll try the thermal paste thing.

yeah I haven't been following any of the new deals so I'll have to look into everything.  I don't even know how much a new PS3 costs lol.  I'm probs going to have to wait until christmas anyway though.

Call Sony.  There may be some sort of secret release (like on the 360 where you can stick a paperclip into a hole to release a disc) that we don't know about.  It wouldn't hurt to check before you do something that may cause irreperable damage.
